Dinner for the Profession
Members and guests wore their coolest attire at Brisbane's hottest new venue, The Star Brisbane, nestled at the heart of the multi-billion-dollar Queen’s Wharf precinct for this year's Dinner for the Profession.

Antarctic Expedition Leader and MC David Knoff told us of his adventures at Australia's Davis Research Station during COVID before introducing Dr Nick Yim, who was elected to serve his second term as AMA Queensland President.
We had the chance to hear from Chief Medical Officer Dr Catherine McDougall before we presented the AMA Queensland awards to very worthy recipients.
After dessert, AMA Queensland Foundation Chair Dr Dilip Dhupelia awarded $10,000 scholarships to four Queensland medical students to support them in continuing their medical studies and pursuing their dreams of becoming doctors.
Dr Dhupelia then went on to award this year's GPTQ Training and Research Bursary recipients to support general practice.
The Foundation's silent auction and raffles on the night raised $2,459 to go towards the 2026 Medical Student Scholarships.
