Digital upgrade FAQs
As we near the launch of our digital upgrade, we know you may have questions about what’s changing, how it affects you and what you need to do next. That’s why we’ve put together these Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to guide you through the transition.

New website launch and database migration
AMA Queensland has been working behind the scenes to upgrade our website and
database to provide the most up to date, secure and user-friendly experience for our members.
We recognise our responsibility in keeping your personal details secure and have implemented the latest security features to ensure those details are as safe as possible.
You will notice some exciting new changes:
- on our website
- in our emails
- within our Member Portal.
Importantly, this includes the way you log-in.
You will be required to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your log-in to enhance the security of your account.
You will notice these changes from Thursday 14 August.
While we are hoping for a seamless transition, we will communicate with members via email if any unexpected interruptions occur.
Update your payment details
If you pay your membership fees monthly by credit card, you will be required to update your payment details.
We will send you a direct link to the payment update section along with a clear step-by-step guide.
Check your inbox after 14 August for these details.
Opt in to MFA
We will also require all members to opt in to MFA on our new Member Portal.
Don't worry if you haven't set up MFA before, we will send you a 'how-to' video.
Keep an eye on your inbox or our website!
As part of our recent system upgrade, we were unable to carry over credit card payment details during the data migration.
For your security, payment information can’t be transferred automatically.
Updating your details now will ensure your membership continues without interruption and your payments are processed securely.
While our online services will look completely different, all AMA Queensland services and member benefits you know and love will remain available (they may just look a little different!)
This includes our:
- policy and advocacy work
- member resources
- busy events schedule
- regular member communications
- opportunities to participate in AMA Queensland Council, committees and working groups
- news digest and articles
- member benefits and corporate partner offerings
- ASMOFQ membership
- Workplace Relations services
- Business Support Services
MFA is an added layer of security used to protect your account. It requires you to verify your identity using two or more methods, typically:
- something you know (like a password)
- something you have (like a one-time code sent as an SMS message and email).
We are implementing MFA to enhance the protection of your personal and professional information. With the growing risk of cyber threats, MFA significantly reduces the chances of unauthorised access, keeping your data safer and giving you greater peace of mind.
To make the setup process quick and simple, we’ve created a step-by-step how-to guide to walk you through activating MFA on your account.
We understand that with any major transition, unexpected issues can occasionally arise, despite our best efforts to ensure everything runs smoothly.
The team at AMA Queensland is on hand to assist you with any concerns or complications that may emerge during the transition.
Whether you need technical help, clarification or reassurance, our goal is to provide prompt and effective support to keep things moving forward with minimal disruption.
You can contact our team on membership@amaq.com.au or 07 3872 2222.
