To help support Queenslanders to drive safely on our roads, the Department of Transport and Main Roads have developed a range of resources and communications for doctors and their patients.

To help support Queenslanders to drive safely on our roads, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) have developed a range of resources and communications explaining:
- The relationship between mental and physical health and safe driving,
- How to manage your driving health and keep driving safely,
- When to see a doctor about your health and driving,
- The requirements for reporting a medical condition, and
- What to do if you’re concerned about someone else’s driving.
This includes a 'Medical fitness to drive: Jet's Law' brochure that provides information relevant to patients.

Driving comes with responsibilities. These include making sure you're medically fit to drive and advising TMR if you have a medical condition that is likely to affect your ability to drive safely.
TMR encourages drivers to make it a habit to self-monitor their health and their driving. If you have any concerns about your driving health, please talk to your doctor. We all have a responsibility to stay safe on the road, for our safety and for the safety of others.
