Expression of Interest - Clinical Prioritisation Criteria
Please find below invitations for the review of the following Clinical Advisory Groups (CAGs): Gastroenterology, Kidney Medicine, Rheumatology, and Cognitive Impairment and Dementia. In addition, we are excited to announce the development of a new Gynaecological Oncology CPC. We invite expressions of interest (EOIs) from members (Allied Health, General Practitioners, Medical clinicians, Nursing both metropolitan and regional) interested in contributing to the creation of this important criteria.

About the role
CAG members play a crucial role in reviewing and refining CPCs to ensure they are clinically relevant and effective. Please refer to the attached CAG Terms of Reference for detailed information on the roles and responsibilities.
Timeframe and operations
The CPC review and development process typically spans 6–12 months. CAGs may convene via Microsoft TEAMS, email, or face-to-face meetings. They are then placed on a 3 yearly review cycle.
Aims of the review
The objectives of the CAG include:
- Reviewing and refining criteria for referring practitioners and specialist outpatient referral areas.
- Providing guidance on urgency categorisation for referrals.
- Identifying essential referral information to ensure efficient patient triaging.
- Exploring opportunities to utilise Telehealth for first outpatient appointments.
- Ensuring alignment with HealthPathways and GP Smart Referral platforms.
CPC program overview
CPCs have been developed for 428 conditions across 28 specialty areas, covering both adult and paediatric care. These criteria are embedded within HealthPathways and GP Smart Referral systems across the state, supporting consistent referral practices. Over 900 clinicians from diverse disciplines have contributed to this initiative. More information can be found in the attached factsheet or on the CPC website.

If you are interested in participating, please submit a brief email to Liz Travers at cpc@health.qld.gov.au by COB Friday, 23 February 2025, indicating the specialty you wish to join.
