The AMA Queensland Annual Conference has a long and proud 22-year history of bringing doctors together to discuss key issues facing the profession while immersed in unique tourism destinations. 

Traditionally held overseas, the conference this year will visit one of Australia’s most iconic and awe-inspiring locations, visiting Uluru and Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. 

From the mighty monolith of Uluru to the desert town of Alice Springs, you’ll find thriving Aboriginal cultures offering ancient storytelling, spiritual tradition and connection, mesmerising natural wonders and landscapes that will touch your heart. Offering truly unforgettable travel experiences, you’re sure to leave the Northern Territory with a new understanding of the heart of our country. 

Itinerary*
Tuesday 28 June 2022 
  • On arrival to Uluru (Ayers Rock) group transfers are available to the Sails in the Desert hotel for a 3 night stay at the jewel in the crown of the Centre
  • This evening we will get together for a traditional welcome to country and cocktail function
Wednesday 29 June 2022 
  • This morning we will enjoy an Uluru base and cultural tour, including breakfast  
  • Transfer back to the hotel for lunch 
  • Afternoon conference session

OPTION 1A:

Arriving into Alice Springs on the Sunday you will be met spend an overnight before setting off early on Monday to Kings Canyon. On arrival you will have the opportunity for a Creek Walk and to explore the boulder strewn Canyon Floor. After an evening at the Kings Canyon Resort we will set off early for a Rim walk. The views of Watarrka National Park from the top of the canyon are magnificent. In the afternoon we travel via the Sturt and Lasseter Highways to reach Ayers Rock Resort in plenty of time for our conference welcome function.

 

 

OPTION 1B:

Monday morning the post tour group will travel via the Sturt and Lasseter Highways to reach King Canyon. On arrival you will have the opportunity for a Creek Walk and to explore the boulder strewn Canyon Floor. After an evening at the Kings Canyon Resort we will set off early for a Rim walk. The views of Watarrka National Park from the top of the canyon are magnificent. In the afternoon we will return to Alice Springs for an overnight stay before your onward travel.

 

 

OPTION 2:

Saturday morning the post tour group will travel via the Sturt and Lesseter Highways to reach Kings Canyon. On arrival you have the opportunity for a Creek Walk and to explore the boulder strewn Canyon Floor. After an evening at the Kings Canyon Resort we will set off on an early morning Rim walk. The views of Watarrka National Park from the top of the canon are magnificent. In the afternoon we will return to Alice Springs in time for an evening flight to Darwin. During your time in Darwin we will explore the ancient rock formations in Litchfield National Park and Cruise the majestic Katherine Gorge. No visit to the NT is complete without experiencing the Jumping Crocs and a little Australian modern history!

 

 

OPTION 3:

Saturday morning the post tour group will travel via the Sturt and Lasseter Highways to reach Kings Canyon. On arrival you have the opportunity for a Creek Walk and to explore the boulder strewn Canyon Floor. After an evening at the Kings Canyon Resort we will set off on an early morning Rim walk. The views of Watarrka National Park from the top of the canon are magnificent. In the afternoon we will return to Alice Springs for an overnight before joining Great Australian Rail Journey on the Ghan from Alice to Darwin! During your time in Darwin we will explore the ancient rock formations in Litchfield National Park and Cruise the majestic Katherine Gorge. No visit to the NT is complete without experiencing the Jumping Crocs and a little Australian modern history!

 

 

OPTION 4:

Saturday morning the post tour group will depart on a flight from Alice Springs to Darwin. During your time in Darwin we will explore the ancient rock formations in Litchfield National Park and Cruise the majestic Katherine Gorge. No visit to the NT is complete without experiencing the Jumping Crocs and a little Australian modern history!

 

 

OPTION 5:

Saturday morning the post tour group will depart on a flight from Alice Springs to Darwin. During your time in Darwin you will get the chance to Cruise the majestic Katherine Gorge before continuing on to Broome. We will include an orientation tour of Broome where you will see the beautiful Cable Beach area and hear about the history including WWII, Pearl farming and back as far as the Dinosaurs! You will then have an additional 3 days to explore the natural beauty of the Kimberley region.
