Correspondence from Queensland Health about Health Professionals’ Mental Health and Wellbeing Summit
Queensland Health has published a report on its Health Professionals’ Mental Health and Wellbeing Summit, held on 17 November 2022. The report summarises the summit’s presentations, panel and workshop discussions, and highlights the department’s future priorities based on the summit’s key themes.
This mental health and wellbeing summit was the result of sustained advocacy from AMA Queensland’s Committee of Doctors in Training (CDT). Representatives from CDT were among the AMA Queensland contingent at the summit. Thanks to our advocacy, the Queensland Parliament amended to the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 following the summit, making Hospital and Health Services (HHS) and their boards responsible for staff wellbeing.
