Doctors' Health Advisory Service

The Doctors’ Health Advisory Service exists to assist doctors and medical students, and their families, in need of support. It is independent of all other medical organisations and its services benefit both the profession and public.

  • Stress and mental illness
  • Drug and alcohol problems
  • Personal and financial difficulties

The DHAS aims to help to restore doctors to their full personal, professional and social capabilities. When this is not possible, alternatives have to be considered which will enable the practitioners to function in the community, while maintaining their dignity. The service has a panel of supportive general practitioners who provide assistance to colleagues. AMA (ACT) provides support for DHAS as a community service to the profession.

The contact number for this service is (02) 9437 6552
