AMA SA driving road safety
AMA SA’s Road Safety Committee visited SAPOL’s Road Safety Centre to explore education programs and discuss how medical expertise can help prevent injuries and save lives.
The AMA SA Road Safety Committee (RSC) visited SAPOL’s Road Safety Centre on Monday 1 December. Opened in October 2024, the state-of-the-art facility hosts safety sessions for children, new drivers and their parents, as well as older drivers.
RSC Chair Dr Monika Moy thanked SAPOL Road Safety Educator Senior Constable Michael Krawczyk – who is also a member of the committee – for guiding the tour.
‘The visit provided a valuable opportunity to see the programs in place at the Road Safety Centre and how SAPOL’s education initiatives work alongside enforcement to improve safety outcomes,’ Dr Moy said.
‘It also gave us a chance to share perspectives and consider how medical expertise can support strategies that prevent injuries and save lives.’

The RSC is unique in Australia as the only AMA committee dedicated to road safety advocacy. It provides strategic advice on issues such as road trauma, medical fitness to drive, and broader safety initiatives aimed at reducing injuries and fatalities, lowering healthcare costs, and protecting vulnerable road users.
