AMA SA Access to Care Round Table: Recommendations

The Australian Medical Association in South Australia (AMA SA) has provided SA Health with recommendations from its Access to Care Round Table that aim to improve patients’ access to care at home and avoid ED presentations.

AMA SA has developed a set of recommendations for initiatives to improve South Australians’ access to care in their communities and out of the state’s EDs and hospitals.

The recommendations follow discussion involving more than 30 leaders of the state’s health system during the AMA SA Access to Care Round Table on 9 May.

The recommendations have been submitted to Health and Wellbeing Minister Chris Picton, who was among those who contributed to Round Table discussions.

AMA SA CEO Nicole Sykes has thanked the participants for their time and attention to an event likely to have real and lasting effects on patient care. Special recognition is given to the following organisations and groups whose contributions were invaluable:
