Senior Doctor Conference

Senior Doctor Conference 2025

Theme: Facing the Future - Together

Join AMA Queensland and the Australian Senior Active Doctors Association (ASADA) for an engaging and inspiring one-day conference tailored to senior active and retired doctors.

This bi-annual event promises a dynamic program filled with expert speakers, discussions and opportunities to connect with colleagues, followed by an optional networking dinner.

The conference program will be created by AMA Queensland, ASADA and the conference planning committee.

From the conference committee:
The 2025 program is shaping up to be an exciting one and a very unique event that will be of great value to doctors contemplating retirement, those who are part-time retired and those recently retired (and of course spouses and partners of senior doctors are welcome too!).

Watch this space for the release of the program in the next few weeks. There is something for everyone! The one-day conference will cover topics such as agesim, medical reserve models, finding meaning and connection after retirement, innovations and strategies in wellness and cognitive vitality in later life, and looking at alternative careers beyond the stethoscope. In addition there will be practical tips on things such as transitioning out of practice, protecting your legacy, run off medical indemnity cover, travel insurance and keeping fit tips.

You will also have the opportunity to network with your peers at the end of the conference and partake in an exciting dinner at Cuchina Regina at Queens Wharf, which showcases the beauty of Brisbane.

Our Keynote Speaker line up includes Professor Nancy Pachana, Professor Genavieve Dingle, Professor John Pearn OAM and Chief Health Office Dr Catherine McDougall. In addition you will learn about the success of the medical reserve model in the USA.

If you belong to any of the categories of doctors mentioned above, this is a day you don’t want to miss. Please note that early bird registrations close on 30 June, so it is advisable to register early to take advantage of these rates.
