Keeping your COPD patients well this winter: Veterans’ Mates

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs and the Veterans’ MATES program team have released the latest topic in the Veterans’ MATES program, Keeping your COPD patients well this winter. This topic highlights interventions that can help prevent exacerbations and improve the physical and mental wellbeing of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Copies of the therapeutic brief and veteran brochure, Taking action with your COPD before winter, along with other topic related materials, were mailed in late March to GPs who treat the selected veterans identified in the RPBS dispensing data. The veteran brochure was mailed in early May to veteran patients who have been dispensed medicines indicated for COPD.
