Members will be aware that we are currently awaiting a decision from the Fair Work Commission on a pay and conditions Determination to replace the ACT Public Sector Medical Practitioners Enterprise Agreement 2021-2022.   The FWC Full Bench heard submissions from both employer and employee representatives in early March and formally reserved its decision on 25 March 2025.

That means that we have been waiting for a decision from the Full Bench for a full 26 weeks.

The parties have written to the Fair Work Commission several times for an update on progress.  The most recent information that we have from the Commission was an email dated 14 August 2025 which stated: “The Full Bench is still currently writing the decision and expect to issue the decision in mid-September.”  I regret to inform you that nothing further has been heard from the Fair Work Commission.

This delay is very frustrating, and affects a large number of medical practitioners in ACT Government employment.  AMA ACT will again seek an update from the Commission if nothing has been received by the end of September.
