AMA submission to Department of Health review of Health Star Rating system - Draft Five Year Review Report

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) has long recognised the need for easy to interpret 'front of pack' labelling to better support consumers in making healthier food and beverage choices.  Poor food choices can contribute to obesity, as well as a broad range of other chronic diseases and health conditions.  The associated costs are significant, particularly in the health system where resources are increasingly limited.
