AMA Response to the National Rural Generalist Taskforce Advice to the National Rural Health Commissioner

The AMA has made a submission to the National Rural Health Commissioner responding to the National Rural Generalist Taskforce Advice.

The submission provides overall support for the recommendations in the Advice, but highlighted areas that will need more consultation and refinement such as using the Pathway to reform the GP Rural Incentive Program and access to non-GP MBS rebates for rural generalists.

The AMA welcomed the opportunity to provide input on the National Rural Generalist Pathway and looks forward to continuing to work with the National Rural Health Commissioner, Professor Paul Worley, and the Taskforce.
