George has advanced skills in laparoscopic primary and revision weight loss surgeries, as well as complex hiatus hernia repairs and reflux surgery. George has been the recipient of three prestigious scholarship grants from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He pursued further formal surgical training in Brisbane, Melbourne, The United Kingdom and the Netherlands. George publishes peer-reviewed journals and lectures at the University of Adelaide. He actively participates in industry bodies, ensuring his skills and private practice evolve to reflect the latest international standards and industry insights.

![]() | Fariba is a leading gynaecologist and founder of FBW Gynaecology Plus, known for her women-centred, holistic approach to care. With advanced training in minimally invasive surgery, she specialises in pelvic floor disorders and pioneered techniques such as MonaLisa Touch therapy, PRP/fat grafting and the world’s first single-incision mesh hysteropexy. A senior consultant at Flinders Medical Centre and Senior Lecturer at Flinders University, she is also an active researcher supporting women with pelvic floor dysfunction and survivors of FGM. Fluent in German, Farsi and Dari, she is a strong advocate for women’s health and empowerment.

![]() | Jayanthi is Dean (People and Resources) at the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University and is a medical doctor with fellowships in medical administration through the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators and with the Australasian College of Health Services Management. With broad experience in education and training, clinical practice, public health, health leadership and management, policy formulating and advocacy, Dr Jayakaran has worked in specialty training sectors and health services in Australia and overseas. She held senior leadership positions within SA Health both in metropolitan and rural and remote health services, including as Executive Director of Medical Services.

![]() | Karen is a dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. With a career spanning general medicine, emergency medicine and sexual health, she has contributed to nationally recognised research on fungal infections in Aboriginal communities. She has held leadership roles within the ACD, including Secretary and Chair of the SA Faculty and serves as a visiting dermatologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Women’s & Children’s Hospital, supervising trainees and teaching medical students. In private practice she treats the full spectrum of dermatological conditions in adults and children, including skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, acne and rosacea. Outside medicine, she is an avid amateur photographer.

![]() | Scott began his career as a radiographer, working in Whyalla and in Adelaide at Radiology SA. His interest lead him to study post graduate medicine at Flinders University, going on to train as a specialist radiologist, giving him a unique and comprehensive understanding of the field. He holds a public consultant position at Flinders Medical Centre and has an interest in chest and abdominal imaging, as well as CT and ultrasound guided interventional procedures.

![]() | In a career spanning for more than 30 years, Dr Edward (Ted) Mah has worked tirelessly with and for the orthopaedic community both locally and internationally. He is the Professor of the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University and Head of Orthopaedics at Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN). He is the Director at North Adelaide Specialist Centre to provide specialised service in Hand and Microsurgery, as well as Elbow and Shoulder reconstruction surgery.

![]() | Louis provides anaesthetic services across all metropolitan private hospitals. He worked as a Staff Specialist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital until 2023, when he transitioned to full-time private practice with Stace Anaesthetists. He is the current AMA SA Vice President but joined the AMA SA Council in 2022 to contribute to advocacy efforts aimed at improving working conditions and wellbeing for doctors, as well as to support reforms that enhance the delivery of care within both the public and private healthcare sectors.

![]() | Chelsea is a Palliative Medicine Physician currently working at Flinders Medical Centre. She holds Fellowships with both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM), and completed a Master of Medicine in 2023. Her clinical experience spans across both NALHN and SALHN, where she has served as a consultant physician. She looks forward to harnessing her varied experience so she can effectively represent South Australian physicians on the AMA SA Council.

![]() | Mark is a GP currently spending most of his time in sports medicine at Wakefield Sports and Exercise Medicine Clinic. After 4 years in the hospital system, gaining his postgraduate Diplomas in Obstetrics and Paediatrics, Mark did rural stream GP training. His career includes EMST (trauma) training, a year-long Emergency Certificate, formal training in Hypnosis, the theory component of the Master of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Part 1 Fellowship exams for Medical Acupuncture and a Master of Sports Medicine. Mark was the first non-physician asked to work at the Australian Institute of Sports. He has also been lucky to have worked for the AFL, Cricket Australia, Lacrosse Australia, SANFL, Rugby Australia, FIFA and is currently helping with the A-League soccer. Mark's special interests include point-of-care ultrasound and intra-articular injections, including being the only doctor in SA using an anti-interleukin and TNF arthritis injection for osteoarthritis. He is on the cutting edge of useful patient interventions.

![]() | Bridget is an experienced GP with extensive expertise in sports medicine, paediatrics and general medicine. She has worked with elite national and international athletes, including Netball, Basketball and the Australian Paralympic Committee and was the Australian team doctor for the Rio Paralympics. More recently she served as Race Doctor for the World Cup Para Cycling event and has retired as Women’s Race Doctor for the International Tour Down Under. A former President of the SA Sports Medicine Association, she is a regular presenter for Sports Medicine in General Practice and currently serves on the AMA SA Council. Since 2017 she has been a strong AMA advocate, chairing the Committee on General Practice for six years and contributing to SA Health’s COVID-19 Primary Care Taskforce, providing vital clinical leadership during the pandemic.

![]() | Mel has worked in both public and private practice. Her research interests led her to completing a PhD at the University of Adelaide in perinatal psychiatry which increased her interest in teaching and service improvement. In 2015, Mel began her Practitioner Member role on the South Australian Board of the Medical Board of Australia and currently works on their committee. Mel is the Deputy Chief Psychiatrist for Inspections and Investigations for the SA Office of the Chief Psychiatrist. In 2022, she was appointed the inaugural presiding member of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board of South Australia.

![]() | Gillian has almost 30-years of experience working in general and specialist paediatrics. Trained in Ireland and the UK, she completed a PhD at University College London. She has broad expertise across respiratory, gastroenterology, rheumatology, cardiology, haematology/oncology and metabolic paediatrics. Now based in South Australia, she has spent nearly a decade in the public hospital system as a General Paediatrician and Lead Clinician for Child Development. She has a strong interest in neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions, is accredited by Autism SA for assessments, and is completing further study in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Known for her warm, holistic and family-centred approach, she is highly regarded for her collaborative relationships with specialist teams across Adelaide.
