AMA President Danielle McMullen and Vice President Julian Rait are visiting Perth members.
From the AMA President:
I write with exciting news. I will be visiting Perth with Vice President, Associate Professor Julian Rait, from 4–8 March 2025 to meet with Western Australian (WA) AMA members as part of a Presidential Roadshow.
Federal AMA presidents have historically travelled to meet members across the country, but the Covid-19 pandemic put a stop to those trips. Happily, while Covid is still very a much a concern, the worst of the pandemic is behind us and these trips can begin again.
I’m particularly pleased that the first Presidential visit will be to Western Australia and will come so soon after the reinstatement of WA doctors to full AMA membership.
This is an exciting year, with a state election in Western Australia and a federal election. Plans for federal AMA advocacy and campaigns ahead of the election are well under way and cover all policy areas, including general practice, private health, public hospitals and public health. We are keen to share those plans with you.
We are busy working on events that will allow us to meet with you, giving you the opportunity to discuss the issues that matter to you with your federal team.
These events will include:
Tuesday, 4 March 11am - 2pm | St John of God Murdoch Hospital |
Tuesday, 4 March 7:00pm | Private Specialists Dinner The Heritage (Cellar Room) 131 St Georges Terrace, Perth WA. Register your attendance. |
Wednesday, 5 March 10am - 3pm | Joondalup Hospital Visit |
Wednesday, 5 March 2pm - 3pm | Afternoon tea with the Doctors in Training H2 Conference Room Joondalup Hospital |
Wednesday, 5 March 7pm | AMA WA Council meeting |
Friday, 7 March 7:30am | GP Breakfast Functions Centre Room 1 Fraser's Kings Park / 60 Fraser Avenue, Kings Park. Register your attendance. |
Friday, 7 March, 3pm | Pramana Medical Centre Gosnells |
If you would like a visit as part of the Presidential State Roadshow please email president@ama.com.au.
If your practice or hospital is interested in hosting a meeting, please reach out to president@ama.com.au and we will endeavour to arrange one.
If you would like to attend or be kept up-to-date for this and future events, please email memberservices@ama.com.au and we will make sure you are updated as events are locked in.
We plan to meet with as many doctors as we can while we are in Western Australia.
