Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation - 2017

The AMA supports organ and tissue donation and strongly encourages individuals to consider their views and discuss them with their family. The Position Statement on Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation 2017 addresses a range of issues including donor choice, donor families, living donors, allocation of organs and tissues, consent to transplantation, umbilical cord banking, trafficking of organs and tissues, transplant tourism, workforce and infrastructure, quality and safety and cultural sensitivities.
