Launceston General Hospital Precinct Masterplan
Members are invited to provide feedback to help us prepare our response to the government's draft revision to the Launceston General Hospital Precinct Masterplan. The revision to the Masterplan reflects changes and new projects within the precinct.
Released in 2021, the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Precinct Masterplan outlined the Department of Health’s long-term vision to redevelop the hospital and meet the future health needs of communities in northern Tasmania. The LGH Masterplan Implementation Program was released in 2022 and outlined a staged approach to the hospital redevelopment.
Since the Masterplan was released, there have been changes in public and private investment within the precinct, and several projects have been completed or brought forward. The updated Masterplan aligns with the clinical demands and priorities identified in the Long-Term Plan for Healthcare in Tasmania 2040 and the associated clinical service profiles.
