Worker's Compensation information statements
There has been a recent change to the Worker’s Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 which will impact private practices on 1 January 2025.

The recent changes include an obligation for employers to provide an information statement to workers before or as soon as practicable after the start of employment for employees starting on or after 1 January 2025.
The above link covers the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (WHOSLA Act) changes now in effect which include:
- for employers to provide timely wage information to their insurer, such as WorkCover Queensland who will issue a notice to provide the information within five business days
- preventing secondary psychological injury by taking reasonable steps to minimise the risk of a worker with a physical injury developing a secondary psychological injury
- better rights for injured workers
- rehabilitation and return to work changes.
For private practices who currently subscribe to AMA Queensland’s Workplace Relations Toolkit, you will receive notice in writing about these changes including the Information Statement.
