Updated Fair Work Information Statement

The Fair Work commission handed down the Annual Wage review 2025-2026 on 3 June.

The Fair Work commission handed down the Annual Wage review 2025-2026 on 3 June, advising that the minimum Rates of Pay under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 and the Nurses Award 2020 were to increase by 3.5% effective 1 July 2025. Superannuation contributions were also raised from 11.5% to 12%. To reflect these changes the Fair Work Information Statement was also amended.

The Fair Work Information Statement provides new employees with details of their employment conditions including the National Employment Standards, rights and entitlements under Australian Workplace Laws. Employers must provide this statement to new employees, including casual, part-time and fixed-term prior to commencing employment or as soon as possible once they commence.

Casual or fixed-term employees, must also receive the Casual Employment Information Statement (updated on 2 July) and the Fixed Term Contract Information Statement.

A casual employee must be provided with the Casual Employment Information Statement at the following times during the employment relationship:

  • small business employers – after 12 months of employment
  • other employers – after six and 12 months of employment, followed by every 12 months of employment.

Failure to provide these statements may result in penalties under the Fair Work Act 2009. Employees may also make a complaint to the Fair Work Ombudsmen.
