GP Trainee Incentive FAQ and guidelines

Queensland Health has compiled responses to a list of frequently asked questions and provided guidelines detailing their GP Trainee Incentive.

General practice sits at the core of the Queensland healthcare system particularly in our rural and remote communities. To bolster Queensland’s primary healthcare services, the state government has committed $24 million to incentivise trainees to undertake GP training.

Under this incentive, eligible trainees will receive a lump sum payment of $40,000.
