AMA Federal Extraordinary General Meeting - 19th March 2022, 2pm AEDT, via Zoom

An extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of members of Australian Medical Association Limited (the Company) will be held via Zoom at 2:00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time (AEDT) on Saturday 19 March 2022.

Why is the EGM being held?

·   The EGM is being held to vote on proposed changes to the structure of the  AMA Federal Council

·   All members should have received a notification email with title “Notice of the AMA Extraordinary General Meeting”

What would AMA Federal Council reform mean for DiTs?

·   Currently, there is only one DiT Representative on Federal Council. This position is held by the AMA Council of Doctors in Training (CDT) Chair.

·   If the proposed reform is supported by voting members, we will have two DiT Representatives on Federal Council. Further, there will also be three General Members on Federal Council which may be filled by any AMA member. These positions could be filled by DiTs or by other members and therefore improve the overall diversity of Federal Council.

How can you vote?

·   All AMA Federal members are eligible to vote.

·   If you are able to attend the Zoom meeting to vote on the day, register for the EGM by emailing memberservices@ama.com.au

·   If you are unable to attend, you can nominate a Proxy to vote on your behalf by completing the Proxy form at https://www.ama.com.au/egm#proxy

·   AMA CDT Chair Dr Hashim Abdeen is happy to be a Proxy for AMA DiT members. You may enter his details to the Proxy form using his name and email cdt.chair@ama.com.au

Please feel free to contact Hash at the above email address or your local CDT representative for any further information.

Thank you for your ongoing support!
