Earn CPD Points understanding the AMA’s Plan for Primary Care Reform on dpL

The new module on the AMA’s Delivering Better Care for Patients: 10-Year Framework for Primary Care Reform has been launched on the Doctorportal Learning (dpL) site for doctors to complete as self-paced online learning. Those completing the module will receive a CPD 'Certificate of Completion'. This module has also been accredited with Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) for 2 PDP.

In this paper, the AMA outlines the importance of, and growing demands on general practice in Australia, some immediate funding goals that will ease the financial pressures on general practice, and long-term reforms for general practice that should be implemented as part of the Federal Government’s 10-year Primary Health Care Plan. The AMA’s proposed long-term reforms will ensure the economic sustainability of general practice in the face of an ageing population that is burdened by chronic and complex disease.
