Palliative care resources and survey
Resources are available to assist GPs and other health professionals in providing palliative care from Palliative Care Australia (PCA).
The PCA website includes information on Palliative Care Self-Assessment online portal (PaCSA), Palliative Care in Aged Care, Facts about morphine and other opioid medicines in palliative care, Advance care planning, and many more useful topics.
There is also information on palliative care in specific patient groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Intersex and Transgender people, and Refugees and asylum seekers, and links to other Professional bodies with a focus on Palliative care medicine.
The AMA GP Desktop Practice Support Toolkit contains a range of resources on palliative care, which are available under the headings Online Practice Tools, Checklists and Questionnaires, and Guidelines.
Palliative Care Australia (PCA) is reviewing the performance and structure of their web-based digital platforms, and is seeking feedback from people who access (or have accessed) content via PCA websites. GPs who have accessed PCA’s online resources may be interested in undertaking this (less than 10 minute) survey before 21 September 2020.
