Reminder: Rural General Practice Grants Program EOIs closing soon

GPs interested in applying for a Rural General Practice Grant have until 2pm AEDST next Tuesday 13 December to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to the Department of Health with a 1200 word description of their proposed infrastructure project and how it will achieve the outcomes and objectives of the program.

Under the Rural General Practice Grants Program, grants of up to $300,000 each will be provided to rural and regional general practices (MM classification 2-7) to deliver improved health services through additional infrastructure, increased levels of teaching and training for health practitioners, and more opportunities to deliver ‘healthy living’ education to local communities.

The grants may be used for a range of infrastructure projects, including construction, fit-out and/or renovation of an existing general practice building, and supply and installation of information and communication technology equipment, or medical equipment.

The program has a two-step application process, beginning with a call for EOI’s, followed by an invitation to those organisations identified as suitable to submit a full application. The EOI documentation is available on the Department of Health website
