Privacy checklist for telehealth services now available

A checklist to assist GPs and other health practitioners with understanding their privacy obligations when delivering telehealth services is now available from the Department of Health.  

The checklist includes information about obtaining patient consent, explaining privacy notices patients, and ensuring that the telecommunication service used for telehealth consultations is secure.  

There are also tips to help you choose which telecommunication style you would like to use (phone, video, email) and how to use them safely and effectively.
