MHNIP 2015-16 arrangements – submit claims for 2014-15 before 14 August

Consistent with the Government’s announcement of a 12 month extension of funding for existing mental health programmes, the Department of Health (DoH) has advised that funding is being provided to maintain the Mental Health Nurse Incentive Programme (MHNIP) at existing service levels from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is writing to all organisations to advise them of the MHNIP arrangements for 2015-16, which will be similar to previous years. Organisations’ session allocations will be based on sessions conducted and paid in 2014-15 and will not exceed the current session allocations. Organisations are being encouraged to submit any outstanding claims for 2014-15 before 14 August 2015, to ensure that data for the full year can be used in the review process. Consistent with current arrangements, organisations will have the opportunity to seek a review if their allocation for 2015-16 is less than their allocation for 2014-15.
