Medicare services for Indigenous health

To assist GPs when providing health services to their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, the Department of Human Services has provided an online eLearning program and education guides.

The eLearning program, Indigenous Health Services, provides a comprehensive overview of Medicare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, including the health items available and subsequent requirements.

The education guides complement the eLearning modules with more information on topics including health assessments and follow-up services, chronic disease management services, mental health services and telehealth. The guides also include case studies.
