Low back pain education from NPS MedicineWise
GPs may be interested in a new education program on low back pain from NPS MedicineWise. Low back pain: taking action is focused on non-specific low back pain, which is commonly encountered in general practice.
The program helps health professionals identify and manage those patients with low back pain who are at increased risk of developing chronic, disabling pain – and offers resources and tools for health professionals and consumers. GPs can access independent and evidence-based information from an NPS MedicineWise Clinical Services Specialist via a CPD-accredited, in-practice education visit.
Other resources for GPs are available, including:
- The opportunity to participate in a CPD-accredited, online case study and receive instant feedback,
- A factsheet focusing on imaging in low back pain,
- A patient action plan to help facilitate discussions with relevant patients, and
- MedicineWise News on patient centred, pragmatic prescribing for acute non-specific low back pain.
