Healthdirect telephone advice service

AMA Vice President, Professor Geoffrey Dobb, recently spoke to ABC News 24 about the effectiveness of the health advice telephone service Healthdirect. He said that one of the difficulties with the telephone advice line is that no visual information is provided. He recommended a greater use of video communication to improve people's access to medical advice, particularly for people living in rural and remote areas, aged care residents and those with limited mobility.
