Health Professional Online Services (HPOS)

GPs and practice managers are reminded that Medicare’s HPOS provides a single entry point for a wide range of services for health professionals. Logging on with a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) individual certificate gives access to the full range of information and services available through HPOS, including:

• Patient Verification;
• Patient Care Plan history;
• Medicare services, including Easyclaim processing and payment reports;
• Centrelink forms; 
• Practice Incentive Programs registration; 
• MBS Items Online Checker, which allows health professionals to check a patient’s eligibility to claim against 98 MBS item numbers; 
• eHealth Record System;
• DVA CVC Patient Treatment Reports;
• Healthcare Identifiers Service;
• Australian Childhood Immunisation Register;
• National Bowel Cancer Screening Program;
• Prescription Shopping Information Program; and
• Rural Incentive Programs.
