Guide available for health assessments and record keeping

Are you up to date with your knowledge of health assessments and record keeping responsibilities? The Department of Human Services (DHS) provides an education guide for GPs to assist them in complying with the requirements of the Medicare Benefits Schedule.

Health assessments are an evaluation of your patient’s health and wellbeing and are used by GPs to assist decisions on preventative health care and education that might be required for the patient to improve health and wellbeing overall.

The education guide provided by DHS provides information about when to use health assessments, the associated Medicare item numbers, patient eligibility and what records you have to keep.

The guide is available here.
