Flu vaccinations in pharmacies

Appearing on ABC News Brisbane last week, AMA President, Dr Steve Hambleton, expressed concerns over the plan by the Queensland Government to allow pharmacists to give flu vaccinations. He highlighed that general practice is the appropriate location for vaccination, with the procedure conducted by a GP or by an appropriately trained and qualified general practice nurse under the supervision of a GP.
