AMA supports profession led accreditation

The AMA has recently updated its Position Statement on Accreditation to consider the current environment for general practice accreditation. Accreditation is an important facilitator in ensuring and improving the safety and quality of health care services in Australia.

The AMA position statement outlines the principles and conditions under which the AMA supports general practice accreditation. The AMA strongly supports a profession led voluntary general practice accreditation system that encourages and assists practices to not only meet a minimum set of standards, but also to continuously pursue improvement.
