AMA President in the media on Budget implications

AMA President, A/Prof Brian Owler, spoke to ABC News, recently explaining the impact that co-payment Budget measure is going to have on preventative healthcare, chronic disease management, and those in our society who can least afford it. He also spoke to 4BC Radio Brisbane about the impact on pathology and diagnostic imaging. In particular, he outlined how the $7 co-payment will not cover the $5 cut in rebate and the loss of the 10 per cent bulk billing incentive which may result in patients having to pay the total cost of the service up front before claiming their Medicare rebate.
