AHPRA is conducting random audits of doctors’ CPD activities

Are you on top of your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) or have you left your CPD to the last minute?

As 2019 draws to a closure, many doctors strive to meet the deadline of their medical college’s CPD requirements.

With celebrations and other commitments building up, especially at the end of the year, it’s imperative to be up to date with your training requirements, allowing you to keep your momentum in 2020.

The doctorportal Learning team encourages you to plan your CPD ahead by reflecting on your current learning needs today, identifying goals for future education and completing any unfinished online learning modules before the year ends. This will not only ensure your ongoing career adaptability, enhancing professional skills and knowledge but will also fulfil any regulatory needs.

AHPRA is conducting random audits of doctors’ CPD activities and there are consequences when CPD requirements are not satisfactorily met. Practitioners who are not affiliated with a college, and/or don’t get regular prompts to do their required CPD are particularly vulnerable for failing to meet their CPD requirements. Should you be selected for audit by AHPRA you will be asked to provide proof of fulfilment of the Medical Board of Australia’s registration requirements within 28 days, including indemnity insurance, proof of practice and criminal history. If you are found to be in breach of any of these areas, you will be reported to the Medical Board of Australia which may affect your registration.

Keep you CPD up to date and take the stress away whenever your medical college registration renewal is due next.

Keep your peace of mind and plan ahead. Browse through our Learning Catalogue and finish your online learning modules today!
