The new National Framework for Prevocational (PGY1/2) Medical Training is now rolled across Australia changing how prevocational education is delivered. Join the AMA Council of Doctors in Training’s webinar to explore and unpack the framework with our expert panel.

The aim of this webinar will be to explain the basics of the framework to prevocational doctors, mythbust, as well as present the opportunity to raise questions about the framework in practice.

Joining the AMA Council of Doctors in Training Prevocational Special Interest Group Chair Dr Michelle Borg is:

Principal Medical Adviser, Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care and Chair of the Prevocational Standards Accreditation Committee and technical adviser to the Specialist Education Accreditation Committee of the Australian Medical Council

  • Dr Dayna Duncan

Dr Dayna Duncan (she/her) is an ACRRM trainee currently working as a medical education and renal registrar at Royal Darwin Hospital (Larrakia Country). Dr Duncan has experience in prevocational training and accreditation as both a recent trainee and accreditation surveyor and she is the immediate past chair of the Australasian Prevocational Medical Officers' Committee (APMOC) and a board member of the Confederation of Prevocational Medical Education Councils (CPMEC)

  • Dr Aidan Tan:

Aidan is a paediatric doctor and medical leader. He has a diverse set of expertise across the health, regulatory, research and education sectors in Australia, New Zealand and internationally.

  • Dr Michelle Borg

Dr Michelle Borg is a PGY-3 Principal House Officer (unaccredited registrar) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is currently working at Gold Coast University Hospital and has previously worked in New South Wales. Michelle has been involved in the Australian Medical Association Prevocational Special Interest Group since she was a medical student and is currently the Chair of the committee.
