Supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing

This webinar is designed to support Doctors in Training to better understand, protect and prioritise their mental health during some of the most demanding years of their careers.

The session will address common concerns about seeking mental health support, including misconceptions around Ahpra notifications and reporting obligations, and will provide clear, practical guidance on safe pathways to care. Importantly, it will focus on supporting doctors with their mental health, rather than navigating systems alone.

A key feature of the session is the inclusion of lived experience perspectives from doctors, recognising the value many clinicians place on hearing directly from peers who have navigated mental health challenges while training and practising. These insights will be complemented by expert and regulatory perspectives, offering reassurance, clarity and practical take‑aways.

The discussion will be open, honest and grounded in the realities of medical training, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing, early support and reducing fear and stigma around help‑seeking.

Key topics include:

  • Dispelling myths about Ahpra notifications and mental health support
  • Clarifying reporting pathways and safe disclosure
  • Supporting doctors with their mental health during training
  • Wellbeing resources and supports available to doctors
  • Lived experience insights from doctors who have sought support

The webinar is CPD accredited for 1.5hours.
