First Federal CDT meeting of 2023

The Federal AMA Council of Doctors in Training met for the first time this year on 4 March over Zoom.

The Federal AMA Council of Doctors in Training is made up of the Chairs and Co-Chairs of each state and territory AMA Doctors in Training Committees.

At their first meeting, the Council debated new position statements on flexibility, safe work environments for doctors, and building capacity for clinical supervision, in addition to reviewing a discussion paper on Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) for medical schools. The position statements will be strengthened and sent to the AMA Federal Council for adoption. The Council also provided in-depth feedback on the development of a Single Employer Model AMA research paper.

The AMA Council of Doctors in Training will next meet in June.
