Urgent Care Clinic Consultation
In late March 2023, AMA (ACT) received notification from Canberra Health Services that it proposed to implement an Urgent Care Clinic (with funding from the Federal Government) by placing a GP into an existing CHS Walk-In Centre. Consultation with GPs and other members identified a number of concerns with the proposed model, and provided the basis of a joint response from AMA (ACT) and RACGP (NSW & ACT) to the CHS proposal.
The CHS consultation paper and the joint response submission are attached for information. We thank all those who participated in the discussions that guided our response.
According to the CHS paper, it was proposed that the Urgent Care Clinic would operate from an unspecified day in May 2023.
