Submission: After Hours Primary Health Care Review

The AMA has made a submission to Government's After Hours Primary Health Review (After Hours Reveiw). The Review is being led by Professor Claire Jackson. The AMA's submission highlights:

• Funding should focus on and support the provision of clinical necessary after hours care; 
• Practice Incentives Program AH incentive payments should be restored, with additional funding made available to address identified gaps in service delivery;
• Rural and remote regions require innovative and flexible models of AH care to ensure coverage, access and equitable spread of workload; and
• The role that tele-health could play in after hours GP  services.
