Expressions of Interest: Review of the Assessing Fitness to Drive Standards Specialist Working Groups
The AMA is seeking expressions of interest from members with relevant expertise to represent it on specialist working groups being established as part of the review of the Assessing Fitness to Drive (AFTD) Standards.
The working groups will support the next phase of the review, covering: cardiac, diabetes and sleep; neurological, psychiatric and neurodivergence; substance use and medications; vision; and ageing and driving, dementia. These groups will provide specialist clinical input on issues that affect patient safety, mobility and access to care. Meetings are expected to occur approximately three times during the review process.
Members with expertise in cardiac, diabetes and sleep; neurological, psychiatric and neurodivergence; substance use and medications; vision, or who have a strong professional interest in fitness to drive assessments, are encouraged to express your interest.
Please contact Damien Hickman at Damien.Hickman@ama.com.au and indicate the working group(s) you would be interested in supporting. Nominations are requested as soon as possible.
