AMA Submission to Restricting Infant Formula Marketing consultation

The Australian Medical Association supports strong, mandatory regulation of infant formula, toddler milks, and related products to protect breastfeeding, infant health, and families.

The submission, in the first stage of work to implement mandatory regulation of marketing, calls for legislation aligned with the WHO Code of marketing of breast-milk substitutes.

The AMA advocates to close the gaps in retailer, digital, and health‑sector marketing to prevent misleading promotion and commercial influence.
