AMA Submission to draft Fifth National STI Strategy

The AMA welcomes the opportunity to make a submission to the Department of Health and Aged Care’s request for feedback on the Fifth National Sexually Transmissible Infections Strategy 2024–2030 draft. The AMA notes sexual health refers to a state of physical, emotional, mental and social wellbeing related to sexuality. While sexual health is vital for (and therefore a part of) reproductive health, it is important to also consider STI prevention and treatment embedded in the context of quality sexual health to address the significant shame and stigma attached to STI.
