Medical college responses to COVID-19

The AMA Council of Doctors in Training (AMACDT) has developed an online resource to support current and aspiring specialty trainees to keep up to date with the status of College responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This resource is available here. It is live resource that will be updated regularly to assist doctors in training and other stakeholders to keep as up to date as possible with changes as they occur.

While every effort will be made to keep content up to date, specific queries about assessment, examination and selection processes should be directed to the relevant College.

This resource summarises publicly available information from College websites about changes to, and the current status of, assessments, education and training, selection into training and wellbeing.

It includes links to College COVID-19 webpages as well as to College webpages providing information specifically targeted at trainee wellbeing.

This resource provides information in the following domains:

For Specialty trainees

  • Examinations
  • Career Progression
  • Exam, Course and other Training fees
  • Special COVID-19 leave
  • Wellbeing

For Prevocational trainees

  • Application processes for training

The AMACDT is working with colleges and trainee college comittees to update this information and will continue to do so as the response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Please contact Dr Hash Abdeen, Chair, AMACDT, at cdt.chair@ama.com.au with any updates to this information.
