MJA-Lancet Countdown receives award for public and environmental health contribution

The MJA-Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change has been awarded the 2023 Tony McMichael Public Health Ecology and Environment Award.

The AMA congratulates the Medical Journal of Australia (MJA) and The Lancet for earning an important award recognising the two journals’ ‘Countdown’ assessment on Australia’s climate.

The 2023 Tony McMichael Public Health Ecology and Environment Award was presented to the MJA-Lancet Countdown team at the Australian Public Health Conference in Hobart this week.

Initiated by the Public Health Association Australia, the award recognises people who have made a significant contribution in the combined domains of public health and ecology or environmental health.

The AMA is a regular contributor to the MJA-Lancet Countdown’s Policy Brief for Australia.
