The Federal Council meeting held over two days (25-26 June) was an opportunity to share recent work and agree on priorities.

The discussions ranged from the need for urgent action on our struggling public hospitals, a debate on the need to address GP training issues, a discussion around the state of Australia’s medicine supply, the need for greater coordination by National Cabinet on consistent COVID responses, and  the worrying the state of private health insurance.

The Federal Council members also heard from our rural doctors, public hospital doctors, doctors in training, medical students via representatives of AMA’s committees, councils and taskforces.
