Participation sought for locum survey

Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care is seeking your views on medical locums in the health system.

The Department of Health and Aged Care is analysing the role of medical locums in the Australian health care system.

The analysis will include:

  • assessing industry drivers behind the demand for locum work, in addition to the individual drivers behind pursuing locum work, both economical and non-economical
  • determining the overall impact of locum resources on the national medical workforce and health settings
  • defining the locum role.

  

The department is surveying medical professionals to understand the reasons why medical professionals may seek locum work, and the reasons broader healthcare stakeholders may engage Locums. Your responses will provide valuable insights that will contribute to strengthening the evidence base supporting Locum-related workforce policies as part of the National Medical Workforce Strategy.. This survey forms a crucial part in capturing the current experience surrounding Locum doctor utilisation.
