Gain the foundational knowledge to effectively understand and monitor clinical governance as a board director.

Clinical Governance for Directors is a one day course that will help you develop your understanding of the directors' clinical governance duties and responsibilities in an interactive and supportive environment. 

This course will provide attendees with the foundation to make more effective decisions and ask the appropriate, relevant questions that will minimise your personal risk and improve the quality and safety of healthcare provided by your organisation. 


Learning objectives

Healthcare leaders will learn to:

  • Explain your key roles and responsibilities as a healthcare director and that of the board, in clinical governance
  • Identify the purpose and essential features of clinical governance, such as accreditation compliance, National Standards, credentialing, incident management and monitoring of health service performance
  • Explain the clinical governance aspects of risk management, impacts on insurance, medico-legal and Coroner reporting obligations
  • Outline the board KPIs for monitoring clinical governance.

On completion of the program, participants will receive the AIHE Clinical Governance for Board Directors Certificate (CPD-accredited).
