Facilitated through a collaboration with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the Australian Institute of Health Executives (AIHE), this four-day program provides aspiring healthcare directors with a comprehensive overview of the main components of health board directorship.
Learning objectives
The program covers all the key areas you will need to be across as a healthcare board director, including sessions on board duties, meeting processes, finance, risk, clinical governance and strategy.
Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Identify the duties and responsibilities of a healthcare director
- Outline governance and board meeting processes
- Outline the director’s role in evaluating financial statements, formulating and monitoring strategy, and identifying and assessing risk
- Understand the director’s role in ensuring robust clinical governance across the healthcare organisation.
- Recognise the link between corporate strategy, clinical governance and financial performance.
On completion of the first three days of the program, participants will receive the AICD Foundations of Directorship™ Certificate (CPD-accredited).
On completion of the fourth day of the program, participants will receive the AIHE Clinical Governance for Board Directors Certificate (CPD-accredited).
